Software Engineer III

The candidate will be a part of a talented team that provides software development support for our client within the United States Army. Primary duties will include providing design and development leadership for the required redesign of our client?s legacy web-based application. The candidate will be responsible for working with members of the management and development teams to design, prototype, develop and integrate components of the new replacement application. Additionally, the candidate will also be responsible for providing software development support for the legacy application. The current legacy application utilizes Classic-ASP, Visual Basic 6 COM, and SQL Server 2000. The new application will support the latest Microsoft technologies, to include ASP.NET, VB.NET, and SQL Server 2005, all under the .NET Framework 2.0. The candidate should be able to work as a member of a team made up of a project management, developers, business analyst, database administrators, and network support members to create software solutions.

 

Requires bachelor's degree (in Engineering, Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related work experience. United States citizen and can obtain a Secret clearance; Technical experience required for the redesign effort includes high levels of experience and skills within the following technologies: ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, XML, JavaScript.SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures), IIS, Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 & 2005, and UML modeling; Technical experience required to support the current legacy application include: Classic-ASP, Visual Basic 6, COM, SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures), Crystal Reports 8; A strong background in the indows architecture, deployment considerations, object-oriented design methodologies; Additional knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Business Objects XI, Crystal Reports, or FileNet is a plus.
