Software Engineer- User Interface

Duties : Design, code, and debug complex software components for Backup Exec for Windows Servers. Develop new features per marketing requirements. Write documentation of software designs and testing implications in detail. Document changes required to fix software defects. Document meeting minutes and decisions. Anticipate and identify problems and risks, then provide alternative solutions to a successful end result. Review the design and code of others and take necessary corrective actions if needed. Facilitate discussion with members of the development, testing, and documentation teams in order to derive quality shrink-warp software designed for end-users and IT administrators. Work with managers of various component teams to provide status and understanding of new development and of software issues and risks. Anticipate future technical needs and develop long-range engineering or product-specific strategies to reach technical goals. Set technical product direction by weighing industry trends, competitive information, and product requirements. Successfully manage tasks and assignments from multiple projects and across one or more teams. Respond quickly to new and changing requirements and opportunities. Commit to completion of tasks on schedule in a team environment. Mentor less-experienced engineers, and share knowledge across the team. Attend technical and professional training as opportunities arise.

Requirements :

6-8 years of relevant experience in software development. Extensive experience on Windows platform using C++. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Applicable skills include: C++, C#, C, Windows, .NET, MFC, user interface design, SQL, RPC, XML, TCP/IP, Windows Installer.
