Software Engineer - Voice

Overall Purpose of Job:

The job scope covers initial product concept, design, development and test, up to and including on-going support and enhancements of deployed products. The successful candidate will architect, design, develop, and deliver software for a next generation converged telephony product.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate will be a member of a team of SIP developers working on leading edge VoIP products. The candidate will:

- be responsible for feature design, implementation, and integration testing

- participate in requirements definition, design reviews, code inspections, test plan reviews, and user documentation review

- assist with customer issues from time to time.

Skills and Experience:

Seeking a hands-on developer with strong knowledge of SIP in terms of depth and breadth. The developer must be a fast learner and team player that can work well with other developers, testers, technical writers, and field engineers. Knowledge of SIP proxies, User Agents, SIP application feature servers, Media Gateways, Session Border Controller, NAT/Firewall traversal, Voicemail servers, Conference servers, Application servers, and Softswitch technology is required.

Qualifications and Education:

The candidate will act as a key contributor in a complex environment and have depth of expertise in more than one area. May be a team leader or key technical contributor. Acts as a source of technical expertise to others in own area. Explains difficult concepts to a variety of audiences and can communicate to intended audience. Creates formal networks internally and externally to accomplish tasks. Work is performed with minimal direction and reviewed by management.

BS or MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

Minimum of 6 years of experience with SIP

SIP design and development experience

Real-time embedded development

C++ and Object Oriented Design

Strong written and oral skills
