Software Engineering

The individual in this position will be responsible for developing and coding mathematically intensive algorithms for the analysis of complex data sets. The ability to understand and make technical and design decisions based upon fundamental principles, especially in the areas of optics and signal analysis is required. He/she will exercise considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of assignments and must be able to operate independently and coordinate a team of engineers to design products that effectively meet requirements.

Design, develop, test, and support quantitative software solutions for our client?s line of computerized microscopes and large aperture interferometers. Work independently or as a technical leader for long term projects that require the coordination of an engineering team. Must be able to prepare and maintain project design and other related documents.

A B.S. degree in Software Engineering, Physics, Math or a related discipline and 14-19 years of related industry experience, an M.S. degree in Software Engineering, Physics, Math or a related discipline and 12-17 years of related industry experience, or a Ph.D. in Software Engineering, Physics, Math or a related discipline and 9-14 years of related industry experience required. Must have strong Visual C++ experience as well as mathematical modeling and analysis skills. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills along with presentation skills. A background in Metrology is a plus. MathCad experience is also a plus. Travel may occasionally be required in order to investigate opportunities and to gather information during on-site customer visits.
