Software Q.A. Engineer

The Software QA Test Engineer will be a member of a small team of QA Engineers that supports the internal Business Applications Development team.  This role requires the ability to work in a dynamic environment with little supervision. The qualified candidate will be able to communicate with developers and business users in order to extract user and technical information that is critical to the development of a comprehensive test strategy.  The candidate needs to be comfortable working independently, show strong initiative, be a quick learner.Job Requirements: ? BS degree, Computer Science or equivalent.
? 4-6 years in software testing environment.
? Ability to multitask multiple projects and security requests a must.
? Experience testing Windows or other GUI apps.
? Experience with Web based application testing.
? Experience with test automation tools, SilkTest preferred.
? Relational database experience.
? Experience writing SQL scripts to validate data.
? Knowledge of software architectures and supported platforms.
? Experience with a PeopleSoft environment desired.
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
? Programming experience with VB, C++ or another scripting language would be a benefit.Job Responsibilities: ? Design, prepare, document and execute software quality assurance testing.
? Utilize formal test and software quality assurance (SQA) methodologies
? Construct test databases and network setups. 
? Write and perform functional system test plans and summarize results. 
? Analyze and report significant bugs and track all bug and project issues. 
? Develop a workflow for staging application changes on our production servers.
? Perform release engineering of approved changes from test/staging into the Production environment.
? Perform security maintenance for People Soft Business Applications.
