JOB DESCRIPTION
DEPARTMENT: Mailroom Technology
TITLE: Software QA Tester - Entry Level
GRADE LEVEL: EX 6
REPORTS TO: Manager, Software QALOCATION: Shelton, CT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Perform functional, regression, integration and system testing on software components, PC applications, n tier infrastructure systems, interfaces, databases, web-sites, and embedded devices.
? Perform performance and load testing.
? Write test plans and derive test cases from requirements specifications.
? Assist in the maintenance of the software test lab and test environments.
? Log and track issues, to maintain change control, for the applications under test.
? Work directly Engineers on software issues that arise from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
? Solid hands-on computer skills in a Windows environment.
? Knowledge and understanding of software engineering methodologies, technologies, and processes.
? Exposure to programming languages such as Java and C++
? Should have very good English writing skills (necessary for writing test plans).
? Ability to read requirements and specifications and translate them into test scenarios.
? Good investigative skills
? Ability to work in a fast pace team environment with multi-site development.
? Should be team player and have strong communications and interpersonal skills.
? BS in Computer Science or an IT related field
