The Software QA Engineer will participate in functional and regression testing for the Leica Photogrammetry Suite of products, including LPS, ORIMA, PRO600, FPES and GPro. The QA Engineer will work in an agile team environment to drive testing of the products across a wide variety of environments encompassing a variety of operating systems, graphics cards and hardware platforms. The QA Engineer will perform test case scoping, design, execution and automated test creation. The QA Engineer will serve as a primary technical point of contact, and mediate software defects and regression exercises with Development.

 

Responsibilities:
-Identify defects in products throughout the entire product life-cycle.
-A thorough understanding of Mapping Science principles and theory.
-Work with a team of software engineers to test software, on-line, and hardcopy manuals for applications in the areas of Digital Photogrammetry, Image Processing, Remote Sensing, GIS, Mapping Science, Geodesy, Geodatabase Techniques, Geographic Analysis, Map Coordinate Systems, Map Projections, and Visual Simulation.
-Design, analyze, implement, and maintain test scripts for regression test automation.
-Ensure accurate and timely test plan execution and coordination with the documentation process.
-Provide information on the proper use of products to various other groups (i.e. Support, Training, Sales, etc.)

 

Requirements:
-BS in Geography or Geomatics/Mapping Science (specialized in Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, and GIS.)
-Familiarity with current Leica-Geosystems photogrammetric products such as, Leica Photogrammetry Suite, ORIMA, etc.
-Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and will be subject to a government security investigation if necessary.
-Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
-Familiar with scripting languages (like JAVA) to effectively design and implement automated tests utilizing Segue?s Silktest and FitNesse
-Understanding of GIS application development environment
-Understanding of QA tools.
-In depth Microsoft Windows and UNIX experience.
-Experience with installing, configuring, and testing computer peripherals.
-Experience with ArcGIS.
