Summary of the Classification:

 

Evaluates and tests software programs to verify simple programs function according to specifications and standards for DynCorp International, LLC for assigned department. 

 

Principal Responsibilities of the Classification:

 

Perform many of the following responsibilities:

 

A.  Reviews requirements, specifications and documentation to gain thorough understanding of programs and processes.

B. Documents results of software testing from input from the development team.

C. Provides or validates estimates for assigned tasks.

D. Creates and modifies test scripts to certify systems changes under close supervision.

E. Develops test control databases.

F.  Maintains test databases and ensures their integrity and currency.

G. May develop software test plans and write software test scripts under close supervision.

H. Documents results of software testing from input from the development team.

I. Assists with writing User guidance documentation.

J. Prepares deployment packages for installation and upgrades of software packages.

K. Installs, maintains and uses testing software programs.

L.  Provides and validates estimates for assigned tasks.

M. Maintains test databases and ensure integrity and currency.

N. Distributes test data from control database to development staff to satisfy adequate unit testing.

O.  Assists in Information Technology field audits.

P. May assist in training End Users.

Q.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education Required:

 

Bachelor?s degree in an associated discipline.  Two (2) years of experience in Information Technology or related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.

 

Experience Required:

Zero (0) years experience with a degree. 

 

Six (6) years in related field without a degree.

 

Special Knowledge/Skills Required:

A.  Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (i.e. Windows 95, NT Workstation).

B. Knowledge of PC hardware configuration and setup.

C. Knowledge of software installation.

D. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
