Software Support Engineer

Nexus Energy Software continues to grow and as a result we are looking for a Software Support Engineer to join the Support Organization based at our Reston, VA office.  We are looking for a candidate with strong software experience who is excited about growing their skills within a fast-paced environment.

 

As an experienced Software Support Engineer, you will take a lead role interacting with clients to troubleshoot software problems.  You will work collaboratively with our professional services and software engineering teams to provide timely problem resolution.  We take pride in providing our clients with world-class support and are looking for someone that shares our commitment to excellence.

The ideal candidate will approach issues from an end-user perspective and provide solutions that will improve the value and usability of the system. As an experienced professional you will be client focused and committed to providing quality solutions.  In addition, you will communicate well and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:

? 2-5+ years of systems engineering, programming and/or software maintenance/support experience

?  Experience programming with VB6.0, C++, C#, VC++, ASP, .NET, ASP.NET, XML and XSLT

?  Experience with SQL (Oracle), source control software, and Visual Studio. Experience with build and installation

  tools a plus

?  Experience maintaining code written by others

?  Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail

?  Experience providing system support and troubleshooting

?  Knowledge of the Utility industry a plus


A BSCS is strongly preferred.
