Job Requirements and Description

 

This is a Team ITSS Position with Jacobs Sverdrup.  The candidate must have 10 years relevant experience, OR 8 years relevant experience and an Associates Degree in a Technical Discipline or related field, OR 6 years relevant experience and a Bachelors Degree in a Technical Discipline or related field, OR 4 years relevant experience and a Masters Degree in a Technical Discipline or related field. Requires experience developing web based applications using ASP, ASP.Net to include C# or VB.NET, HTML and JavaScript.  A working knowledge Oracle is also required. Knowledge of Web Services, MS SQL Server and XML a plus.

 

Other Duties:

 

A programmer is responsible for developing software based on a defined set of design and performance requirements. A programmer may be called upon to partner with a Business Analyst and/or with customer function managers in the development of requirements. Programmers must ensure that their developed software meets or exceeds requirements.  Technology:  A programmers main technology emphasis should be to:  Maintain skill set required to do job.  Maintain an awareness of trends within the technology industry.  Should be proficient in current prevailing software development tool such as .NET, XML, JAVA, ColdFusion, etc.  Training: (specific languages required may vary depending on project).  ASP.NET, Visual Basic, C# and XML.  Oracle Training/Certification.  MS SQL Server.  Senior Programmer I (SP1).  Leadership/Direction: A SP1 will lead application development efforts and provide expert knowledge of procedures and application development techniques. At this level 60% of the time will be spent directing the technical efforts of others, reviewing development efforts and application designs, and interfacing with customers and other development teams to ensure consistency and integration in the overall enterprise design. All safety policies must be strictly adhered to.  Activities:  In additional to the previous levels, a SP1 should:  Be able to multi task development efforts across various projects.  Display ability to interact and collaborate on technical issues within a team or department.  Have experience as a member of development teams that have produced moderate to complex applications.  Have ability to understand documented requirements and translate them to design applications and databases.  Actively participate in application design, database design, schema layout and data loading.  Participate in the creation and turn in of weekly reports.  Be involved in preparation of briefings for management and/or the customer.  Participate on peer review teams as requested.  Be able to verify accuracy and completeness of systems by preparing sample data and testing.
