Sr Analyst II, Applications

Job Description Individual will provide project management and technical expertise to initiatives within IT Technical Systems. Projects may consist of custom in-house developed solutions or deployment of commercial software. Initial focus will be on projects related to the deployment of a global Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Individual may also manage a team of consultant resources. Projects are managed according to applicable Biogen Idec frameworks and this position will be responsible for following all applicable global IT guidelines, and production of any required framework documentation / deliverables. This individual will work closely with client business lines to determine project business requirements and to align user testing and production acceptance criteria.

Qualifications
- Managing IT projects for a minimum of 7 years.
- Experience in Biotechnology or the Pharmaceutical industry. Specifically a basic understanding of Quality Control, Pre-Clinical/Clinical or Technical Development laboratory spaces.
- Previous experience configuring and deploying a LIMS system is highly desired. Experience with LabWare LIMS is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
- Ability to work with cross-departmental resources and teams to deliver on Biogen Idec goals and initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver validated, 21 CFR Part 11 Compliant systems
- The following technical skills are desired but not required:
- Programming experience (Visual Basic or Java)
- Relational database design and implementation, preferably Oracle
- Ability to develop complex SQL queries
- Experience with Crystal Reports, JBuilder, OptimalJ and TOAD

Education
BS or BA in Computer Science, Business Administration or other applicable discipline. PMP Certification is a plus, but not required.
