Description:  The Sr. Architect is required to demonstrate sound Technical Architectural Leadership, playing a vital role in designing, enhancing, implementing and scaling Linksys' application platform.

Roles include:
? Demonstrates expertise in working with business units, product management, development and operations to architect innovative solutions that meet the Linksys OnLine system needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules and adherence to architectural goals and principles.
? Drives technical designs to consensus and approval as a core member of Linksys' cross-functional architecture design group. Designs solutions for specific use cases that provide frameworks, interfaces and services that can be extended and reused for future requirements.
? Reviews external technologies and products for their applicability to specific project requirements. Sr. Architect is able to compare various solutions and select the one most appropriate for the project and company.
 
Qualifications:
? 10+ years experience in requirements analysis, design, development and unit testing of distributed, fault-tolerant applications with particular attention to security, scalability and high performance is required.
? Experience with architecting high volume web systems or large transaction client-server systems are required.
? Excellent communication and relationship skills, especially the ability to articulate advanced technical topics are required, with the ability to articulate business issues/concerns with staff, peers, superiors, and outside parties (e.g. vendors, partners).
? Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills are necessary.
? Strong presentation skills are essential.
? Candidate demonstrates ability to thrive in a high-pressured but structured, customer-oriented environment.
? Candidate must have the ability to contribute to multiple projects/demands simultaneously.
? Strong object modeling skills are necessary.
? Candidate is experienced in Java, application servers, servlets, JSP, Java Beans, EJB, JMS, RMI, JDBC.  Experience with WebSphere is a plus.
? Experience with XML, XSL, DOM, DTDs, schemas, and XML parsers and tools is a plus.
? Extensive knowledge and experience with database design and optimization (Oracle, DB2, Sybase or MS SQL Server) is essential.
? Experience with middleware messaging services and distributed objects is helpful.
? Experience with O-R mapping and persistence mechanisms is helpful.
? Knowledge and experience using digital media technologies including MP3, MPEG2, MPEG4, ACC etc. is strongly preferred.
