Sr Embedded SW Development Engineer

1. Design, Implement, Test, Deploy and Support flexible and robust drivers and middleware for flash memory subsystems. 2. Work closely with customers, the field sale force, and design engineering to support our products and customers. 3. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Experience* A minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience in the Hard Disk Drive industry. The ideal candidate will have the ability to architect hybrid hard drives (HHD or H-HDD) and solid state hard drives (SSHD), the ability to steer our hardware development team technically, the ability to manage the project and the ability to manage the future supporting software development team. The candidate must be able to start the development on their own. This is a highly visible role within the company and we are looking for a candidate with proven experience.

The candidate must be an expert in all phases of embedded software development. C & assembly language programming/debugging expertise is a must. SATA, PATA, ATA, IDE, PCI, USB and other HDD protocol expertise is also a requirement. Experience working with customers and partners on development or support of products to meet their requirements, including ability to work closely with individuals who vary widely in experience and technical depth. Experience developing in standard environments. Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively. Demonstrated ability to balance multiple objectives under deadline and work in a dynamic business environment. Ability to design extensible APIs that can successfully evolve over time. Demonstrated commitment to quality. Strong problem solving skills. Works effectively both independently and in a team environment. A passion for technology and the ability to apply it creatively. High level of initiative and flexibility. Research technical issues and generate creative/innovative solutions. Extremely effective English communication skills both spoken and written. Good interpersonal skills with great ability to work across organizational boundaries. Basic project planning and development schedule estimation. Understanding of software testing fundamentals and processes.

Application development only experience is not sufficient.

Relevant experience in driver and kernel development a plus. Experience with Flash file-system development and/or NAND memory also a plus.
