Sr IT Project Manager - high impact role, major million-$ projects, work/life balance, room to grow

In this high impact role you'll lead major projects related to circulation and distribution functions in our Metro division, which includes three of our largest newspapers. Right off the bat you'll take over a multi-year, multimillion-dollar project (already in progress) to replace the circulation management system in all three papers. You'll plan, implement, and test a variety of projects related to technology, operations, and applications support, including developing project schedules, maintaining task and issues lists, leading requirements planning, developing test plans, coordinating change management, and various other activities required to ensure projects are properly defined, approved, documented, resourced, scheduled, supervised, and completed. Pivotal to your success will be a hands-on approach to managing stakeholders and team members, including the ability to persuade and motivate those over whom you have no direct authority.

To be a good fit for this position you will have at least eight years of experience as a Project Manager or Project Lead coordinating the activities of a technical staff on multiple projects relating to systems management, technology projects, and application implementations. Newspaper industry experience is not required, although experience with transaction oriented functions, such as retail, distribution, and call center activities, is preferred. We're looking for a professional with broad exposure to multiple platforms and processes (networking, programming, and development), as well as a demonstrated ability to lead a group of stakeholders through the process of breaking down a problem, exploring options, and developing and implementing solutions.
