JOB TITLE: SENIOR IMPLEMENTATION CONSULTANT

LOCATION:  WEST COAST, USA

 SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION

SumTotal Systems provides business performance improving products, services and solutions that help customers increase revenues, decrease expenses and reduce operational cycle time. We provide an integrated suite of business performance management applications that help customers deliver, manage and measure learning to solve specific business problems. 

 

Senior Implementation Consultants are focused on the delivery and implementation of SumTotal?s solutions.  Deep technical skills are a must.  Consultants may also play a project management role for smaller clients and projects.  Work will primarily be performed at client locations.  Travel:  30 - 35%, primarily domestic.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

? Develop technical strategies and architectures for systems or enterprise-wide solutions.

? Develop and recommend solutions and strategies for technical solutions based on the analysis of customer business goals, objectives, needs, and existing systems infrastructure.

? Conduct business requirement analyses and gap analyses.

? Participate in sales and proposal presentations in addition to ongoing team account activities.

? Participate on a project team that will be defined and organized according to the skills and experience required for the implementation.

? Execute tasks related to client delivery; time will be focused on detailed project tasks.  A small portion of client time will be spent on project management tasks.

? Identify and recommend product customizations, enhancement or work-arounds to meet client requirements.

? Perform knowledge transfer to client support staff.

? Develop data conversion and testing strategies.

? Manage individual budget and scope of work.

? Provide both engagement and technical leadership to the client as well as to a cross-functional team.

? Work with internal groups to define, deliver, and assist with post-implementation issues.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

? Competent with software implementation and structured implementation methodologies.

? Previous technical (4+ years) and business (4+ years) experience in a consultant role for medium to large scale projects.

? Ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams and professionals of all levels.

? Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.

? Excellent communication and presentation skills.

? Demonstrated client relationship and interpersonal skills.

? Basic knowledge of some or all of the following areas:  SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL), UML, Crystal Reports 9, XML, Web Services, VB, ASP, SQL Server, Oracle 8.x, 9.x, II s, firewalls, proxies, and general Windows OS and network security.

? Willingness to travel; travel percentage varies, with an average of 30- 35% of the time.

? 4 year degree in engineering, computer science, MIS or equivalent
