Sr. J2EE Software Engineer

Union Switch & Signal, Inc. is looking for a Senior J2EE Software Engineer for our Pittsburgh, PA location:

 

Summary:

 This position requires an experienced individual well versed in enterprise Java development. This candidate will be primarily responsible for contributing to application design, development along with assistance in all aspects of the development process.  The candidate should have experience in a formal software development environment with experience in all phases of the software lifecycle

 

Must have:

 7-10 years overall experience in software development3-5 years of Java and J2EE. With experience developing apps deployed in major vendor application servers (i.e. Weblogic, Websphere etc?)Experience on high availability, internationalized applications with a large user baseDevelopment experience with O/R mapping frameworks and JDBCThis includes strong SQL skills and data base experience, specifically with Oracle technologiesLegacy application integration with J2EE, including messaging systems integrated with JMSStruts, Spring MVC or other MVC web frameworkXML parsing and transformation, including web servicesFamiliarity and/or usage of J2EE design patterns, GoF, AOP,, IoC and OOService oriented and N-tier architecturesKnowledge of high level IT enterprise systems and systems planningUML

 

Beneficial, but not required:Spring framework in a J2EE environmentApplication integration with 3rd party security frameworksGIS Mapping (i.e. MapInfo)C/C++ experienceWeblogic or other J2EE administrative experienceCapacity planning for large web-based applicationsN-tier performance tuningApache HTTP serverJSR 168 and other Portal technologiesSVGJ2ME and mobile technologiesScrum development process or other Agile methodology

 

Salary negotiable based on experience
