Sr. Linux/Solaris/Unix Systems Administrators
Are you an experienced Linux/Solaris/Unix administrator, looking to expand your horizons? We are seeking Sr. Systems Administrators for on-going opportunities in the East Bay area. Job functions would include: develop tools and scripts for on-going maintenance of site infrastructure, as well as processes that simplify and automate maintenance activities; participates in requirements analysis, implementation planning, and other team-development processes; perform research and planning of server, storage, and application changes; analyze and improve system performance; configure new services including specification, hardware assembly, operating system and application configuration; troubleshoot issues related to server hardware, operating system, storage, applications, and networking. Qualifications :
These positions require a BS in Computer Science preferred or 5+ years IT systems administration experience; 5+ years relevant experience in Linux/Unix Systems administration, including design, implementation, ongoing administration, and support of critical production systems; Solaris and Red Hat Linux systems administration preferred; Proficient scripting skills in bash, perl, csh, or python; significant experience in architecting and deploying high availability internet-based systems and have deployed tools such as load-balancers, LVS, or redundant server clusters; experience in storage solutions, including RAID, iSCSI, backup/restore practices, administration of firewalls and OS security fundamentals; Postgres or MySQL (MySQL5 & ClusterO); common Linux and/or Unix Systems administration tools; LDAP, DNS, DHCP, NIS, NFS, NAS, Jumpstart, Kickstart, Systemimager; familiarity with the Internet and World Wide Web along with supporting protocols (HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP, DNS); Apache, IBM WebSphere, Tomcat, Big Brother monitoring) familiarity with Foundry or Cisco network hardware. Finally, we are seeking candidates who can learn new technologies quickly, have excellent technical research and analysis skills, show outstanding written and verbal communications, and interpersonal skills, and work well within a team environments.
