Senior Manager/Director, Strategic Operations
We seek a high quality individual to join the Strategic Operations organization of the $2B Data
Center Management Group (DCMG) at Symantec.
This role entails a diverse set of activities that span mergers and acquisitions (M&A), business
development (BD), business planning and strategic projects. Specific responsibilities include, but
are not limited to:
? identifying and engaging early stage companies that are potential BD/M&A candidates
? partnering with corp dev and product management as a key member of a deal team
? delivering data-driven insights to support DCMG strategic planning process
? owning and driving to completion key strategic projects, often working with the DCMG SVP
The right candidate will be a
? clear, crisp communicator, both in writing and verbally
? strategic thinker, yet with a strong bias towards action
? strong analytical problem solver who is able to make smart, simplifying assumptions
? creative entrepreneur who finds innovative ways to overcome roadblocks and get things done
Nearly all of the day to day activities in this role entail close interaction with Symantec leadership
and our business partners ? confidence and executive presence are a must.
The typical profile is an investment banker or management consultant from a top firm seeking to
join a high growth, blue-chip technology company. This is a GM-track role for individuals who are
successful and can demonstrate the ability to take on increased responsibilities.
Experience and education:
? 1 to 4 years out of a top MBA program
? Pre- or post-business school experience at an investment bank, private equity/VC firm or
management consulting firm
? Technical undergraduate degree or demonstrated desire and ability to understand our products
and market
? Track record of exceptional performance and consistent professional growth in previous roles
