Sr. Manager/Director of Hosted Operations (Windows) - Mountain View, CA
Summary:
The individual will be responsible for managing all IT-related services for a hosted solution, which includes managing data center infrastructure and internal corporate network and systems (all Windows-based technology)--as well as managing small 24/7 teams dedicated to ensuring high availability of all corporate systems. Our ideal candidate will be a strong technical person who can still diagnose issues and plan and monitoring the various tasks for the department. While this position is hands on, this person will also be responsible for identifying, hiring, and managing additional staff as needed.
Responsibilities: Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations/activities associated with delivering a hosted solution to exacting enterprise clients Provide 24x7 service for the IT infrastructure and internal corporate network Plan and manage the growth of IT infrastructure to achieve corporate objectives (planning includes design of infrastructure to support production and corporate systems, disaster recover, and incident response) Identify, track, and resolve all issues and risks associated with the delivery of client services Build and Manage the IT and Helpdesk teams Work with the Services and Engineering team members to diagnose the root cause of issues that affect the service quality Document and manage the processes for standardizing different operations and management of the infrastructure Improve margins and reduce costs for areas of responsibility Purchase hardware and software resources for the company (while appreciating the inherent financial constraints of a small, growing company) Communicate effectively with Executive Management on successes, issues, and goals Support remote operations in distributed locations (offshore teams, remote US sales reps, East & West Coast offices)
Experience: 10+ years of experience with direct management experience of IT and staff (3+ years management required) Strong technical background in Windows systems (Windows 2003 Server, SQL Server 2000, etc.) and networking with a proven ability to understand and analyze capabilities to determine best technical direction High-level understanding of LAN/WAN environments (including switches, routers, load balancers, etc.) Proven ability to learn new systems, environments, cultures, etc. quickly and professionally Successful track record building strong relationships with internal and external customers Experience with large-scale storage management Good understanding of security issues and management of security risks Experience in managing IT infrastructure for a hosted solution (ASP, ISP, MSP) is a strong plus Bachelors degree required (cert's like MCSE, CISSP, etc. are a strong plus)
