Sr. NOC Database Engineer

Description: - Monitor database and systems utilization to drive troubleshooting and tuning
- First and second tier resolution of production issues and alerts
- Work with external teams to diagnose complex problems and drive resolution
- Understanding of all components of the eBay site infrastructure in order to analyze impact of alarms and other system messages
- Take corrective action for operational problems
- Complete tasks required to maintain service levels and availability of all site features and functions

Qualifications:
o Experience troubleshooting and tuning Oracle in a production environment
o Experience with very large production databases (200 GB+)
o Understanding of multi-tier architectures from a conceptual level
o Operational environments with a DBA background is essential for this job, ideally OCP certification
o Experience with database replication technology, preferably Shareplex
o Proven problem solving skills with an emphasis on quick problem resolution
o Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment
o Mid-level Unix system administration skills
o Some Windows system administration skills
o Basic LAN and WAN network knowledge
o Experience with web development technologies like HTML, XML, XSL, Java
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
