Veoh Networks, the world's first Internet Peercasting TV network, is looking for a hands-on engineer to help in the design and build out of our data center operations. If you have experience in a large scale Internet data center that absolutely, positively had to be up and running for your company to be successful AND you are looking for the chance to join a team that is ?changing everything? while providing the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology, we want to talk to you.

 

The Sr. Network Engineer will be a critical part of the Veoh technology team ? working closely with our development staff to ensure a successful deployment and delivery of service. They will be an implementer and a strategic thinker ? contributing to the design of systems designed to move full screen, TV quality over the Internet leveraging peer-to-peer distribution with centralized control.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:Day to day data center operations, including system monitoring, maintenance, and equipment installationsEvaluating vendor relations/selections for hardware and services as Veoh expandsPrepares budgets and make recommendationsImplementing escalation and troubleshooting processes to maintain high reliabilityContributing to system design and architecture with engineering leads during new product development to improve scalability and reliabilityPreparing regular technical and operational reports for managementProvide direction on hiring, training, and developing operations team

Qualifications:2+ years in a Lead Network Engineer role, for a large-scale, high availability Internet data centerLinux, Linux, LinuxAbility to configure and manage firewalls, load balancers and other network infrastructure under pressureUnderstanding of and experience managing Java server applications, MySQL database applicationsExperience implementing content distribution networks (such as Akamai and LimeLight) very helpfulHistory of being part of high performance teams that regularly do the impossible ? and brag about it
