Sr Principal Software Eng

Job Description: Led the process initiatives and the software process group for Raytheon Missile Systems. This candidate will work closely with the Software leadership to establish the vision and strategy for continually improving the software development and management processes uses across the business. This candidate will also work closely with the Enterprice Process Group (EPG) to ensure all processses are fully integrated with the architecture of IPDS@RMS and remain compliant with CMMI Level 5. The SEPG lead will be responsible for the development and maintenance of all software processes, training materials, and enablers. Additionally the candidate will support the Software Leadership in deploying these processes across the organization and to the programs.

Candidate will be responsible for:
-the development and maintenance of software processes
-generation and delivery of software process training
-development and maintenance of process supporting enablers (tools, checklists, templates, etc.)
-lead process improvement R6s projects
-conduct surveys and focus groups to obtain best practices, lessons learned and improvement opportunities from across the enterprise
-support of new program tailoring events as appropriate
-Lead SEPG planning and working in other process areas of IPDS@RMS including the EPG

Additionally, this candidate will interface with all disciplines across the RMS enterprise and with corporate teams and councils to identify best practices, lessons learned and improvement opportunities for the software processes. The SEPG lead will represent RMS on corporate level councils as appropriate.

Required Skills: Candidate needs a minimum of ten years experience in some aspect of product development. The successful candidate must have a strong interest in process development and application. The successful candidate will have general management, people, and process skills. He/she must have demonstrated strength in process improvement/innovation, working with diverse functional managers, management metrics and mentoring skills. Finally, the successful candidate must have a strong basic knowledge of process tailoring, process improvement, process assessments/appraisals, change management, and program planning.



Desired Skills: Training in Arbinger principles, experience in metric development and deployment, program plannning, IPDS@RMS and corporate IPDS. Qualified R6Sigma Specialist. A Secret clearance is a plus.

Required Education(including Major): Minimum Degree is B.S. Majors: Engineering - Computer Science, General Engineering Management, Business Management with applicable program management experience.
