Sr. Product Manager, Wind River Compiler

The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for defining the functionality for the Wind River Compiler and working with a cross-functional team to lead the project from definition to release. This individual will bring their market knowledge of the embedded software and compiler industry as well as their deep understanding of semiconductor technology to this role. As the senior product manager, you will also evangelize the compiler, and drive the go-to-market model with our sales teams, marketing organization, and channel partners.

Responsibilities:
? Define the compiler product requirements based on customer feedback, market information, competitive analysis and field input. Drive these requirements through the product life cycle with a cross-functional and geographically distributed team.
? Drive the go-to-market model for the Wind River compiler, including product packaging, pricing, licensing, and positioning. Work closely with the Wind River sales organization to provide sales and technical training.
? Manage compiler business, providing quarterly updates on the status of the business to senior management and making recommendations on business improvements.
? Developing long-term compiler strategy and business plan.


Requirements:


? Minimum of 5 years of product management experience, ideally in the compiler or embedded software development market. Optionally, strong semiconductor experience is highly desirable.
? Proven experience defining and driving customer requirements through the entire life cycle.
? The compiler market is extremely narrow segment and the ability to understand the competition and market needs and then map to Wind River solutions is highly desirable. If the candidate doesn?t have direct compiler market experience, then they will need to demonstrate strong market research and technology research skills.
? The compiler is a highly complex technical product to define and sell. This role will require a solid understanding of both software development and semiconductor technology. Direct software engineering experience in either the embedded software space or in software debugging is required.
? This person needs to work well with an engineering team and highly technical sales people. They must have excellent interpersonal skills and strong leadership capabilities to support this requirement.
? As the owner of this solution, the senior product manager needs to be a self-starter and highly motivated individual who can execute on agreed upon objectives for the business with little supervision.
? Strong technical and business leadership skills are necessary.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills as required for this role.
? Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and/or engineering
