Sr Project Manager

Position Title: Technology Services Project Manager

 

Reporting:  Director, Technology Services

 

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

1.  Consults and reviews with management project proposals to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.

2.  Orchestrates project start-up process including: securing resources, establishing project plan and scheduling kick-off

3.  Develops project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, and identification of risks, contingency plans and allotment of resources for each phase of the project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.

4.  Responsible for handling / overseeing more than one project at a time depending on scope of work of each project.

5.  Coordinates with multiple departments and prepares scope of work

6.  Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.

7.  Coordinates recruitment or assignment of project personnel.

8.  Assigns duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project personnel.

9.  Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

10. Follows standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.

11. Prepares project status reports for management of project status and related issues.

12. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.

13. Coordinates and responds to request for changes from original specifications.

14. Monitors project results against technical specifications.

15. Conducts formal project review and benefits realization exercises

 

Knowledge and Skills:

1.  Proven track record in managing projects / programs in a large scale enterprise including design, selection

2.  Superior verbal and written communication skills

3.  Proficiency in MS Project Required

4.  Ability to manage multiple projects at one time in a fast paced environment

5.  Ability to challenge status quo with substantiated recommendations & diplomacy

6.  Must be analytical and detail oriented

7.  Strong understanding of project management methodologies.

8.  Demonstrated success in large-scale technical projects

9.  Demonstrated track record of high teaming, flexibility and ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment

10. Working knowledge of SW  life cycle processes, preferred

 

Minimum Qualifications:
College degree or equivalent experience 
3 to 5 years Project Management experience in software technology industry
Project Management Practitioner (PMP) certification preferred
ITIL / ITSM Certification strongly desired
