Sr. QA Software Engineer

This is a hands-on technical position with additional responsibility for managing external resources. The incumbent will act as the main technical interface between Quality from one side and the Engineering, Documentation, Support, Professional Services and Sales Engineering from the other.

The ideal candidate is able to work independently and to lead a remote team if required.

Skills Required/Responsibilities:

 

?  Reproduce in the local lab all problems that require more in-depth diagnosis and root cause analysis

?  Act as the main interface between Engineering and help troubleshooting of critical bugs

?  Act as subject matter expert for one or more technologies inside the QA team

?  Define test plan and testing approaches

?  Create automation tools and scripts in the test framework for test case execution

?  Assume ownership for all the QA projects in his/her area of expertise

 

Required:

 

?  Minimum of 3 or more years of hands-on experience testing SDK for OO language (Java and/or C++)

?  Minimum of 2 or more years of hands-on experience analyzing and writing code in Perl, Java and/or C++

?  Hands-on experience in system administration on Unix and/or Windows

?  Minimum of 2 or more years of experience using and improving test automation suites

?  QA background -- understanding of QA concepts and ability to apply them in a real environment

?  Define QA plans (what to test), QA design (how to test it) and to prioritize testing efforts in order to find the most critical problems early on

?  Break the code -- talent for identifying bugs early on

?  Persistence to push the product to the limit

?  Diagnose problems and report root causes, not just symptoms

?  Quickly learn new technology -- the ideal candidate understands the inner working of previously tested products

?  Self-driven, organized, adaptable and able to work in a dynamic environment

?  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

?  Ability to interact with SW engineering as a peer in technical discussions
