Sr. SQL Server DBA / Operations Manager

IntrinsiQ Research is looking for a Full-Time Sr. SQL Server DBA / Operations Manager.  

The Ideal candidate would be a 5 - 10 year experienced mid to senior level SQL Server DBA with solid experience in designing and maintaining mission critical production databases. Please forward your resume to tech_ops@intrinsiq.com for consideration.

 

FUNCTIONS:

?  Database design and development to support our entire product suite;

?  Writing SQL code (stored procedures, triggers, database scripts) to implement business logic and database maintenance;

?  Database performance tuning, troubleshooting;

?  Experience in Data Loads, DTS package programming.

?  Query and stored procedure performance optimization and performance tuning

?  Data modeling

?  Process automation

?  Define and maintain SQL code development standards in such areas as secure coding practices and documentation

?  Various production tasks

 

REQUIREMENTS:

?  Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field;

?  5-10 years experience with SQL Server in designing databases and implementing database applications (transactional and/or data warehouse);

?  Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services, and SQL Server Reporting Services;

?  Very good knowledge of T-SQL and Microsoft database tools;

?  Experience with database administration in a development and production environments;

?  Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills;

?  Experience with SQL Server 2005, VB.NET or C#, and knowledge of the pharmaceutical data is a plus.

MONTHLY TASK DISTRIBUTION

DBA related tasks 20-25%

?  Collect performance metrics and data metrics for scalability and capacity planning and code improvement suggestions

?  Troubleshoot SQL Server performance issues

Monthly Production tasks 20-25%

?  Automate database maintenance tasks such as index rebuilds, backups, and log shipping

Administrative tasks 10-15%

?  Assist system administrator with user security, full-text indexing and disaster recovery plans

?  Hardware capacity planning

Development and support tasks 35 -35%

?  Data investigations, data-pulls, report development  

 

Compensation: will be based on experience.
