Sr. Software Development Engineer
Primary responsibilities
? Define, design, develop and maintain enterprise applications for digital media commerce and customer care systems.
? Design new modules (including writing design documents,) write code, debugging, writing unit tests, testing, deployment and documentation.
Additional responsibilities
? Collaborate with other Software Development Engineers, Product Management and Customer Service to refine design and improve system reliability
? Taking ?ownership? product modules.
? Analyze high-level requirements from Product Management and Business Analysts and turn them into UML-based designs, and subsequently implement the requirements.
? Develop new web forms, business objects and services as needed.
? Maintain and change existing application and modules.
? Maintain, monitor, fix immediate issues and continuously enhance our applications.
? Work closely with integration engineers to assist in deploying our solutions for our clients.
? Responsible for maintaining and creating portions of the technical documentation.
? Adhere to the processes and standards defined by the Engineering Department.
Interfaces
? Part of a team of Software Development engineers
? Regular contact with Product Management and the Quality Assurance Teams
Knowledge & Skill requirements
? 5+ years practical experience in software development of commercial software applications systems.
? 3+ years practical experience of building a high volume e-Commerce or financial transaction engine required
? 3+ years practical experience developing applications using OO design and C++ or Java
? 2+ year experience with ASP.NET and C# in a commercial software project
? 2+ years experience with Microsoft SQL server databases
? Experience creating Web Services in .Net
? Excellent knowledge of Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 platforms
? Experience with Configuration Management processes and tools
? Experience with Media, DRM, Customer care and billing applications is a plus
? Excellent knowledge of UML and the Unified Process
? Previous experience of building a high volume e-Commerce or financial transaction engine required
? Previous experience with a general ledger system that is capable of handling international accounting laws and regulations
? College Degree in Computer science or equivalent experience required
