Position Information

 

Division:  Performance Management GroupDepartment: Software Development

Description:  The primary function of the Senior Software Engineer is to develop, maintain and enhance web and database level MPC (Management Planning and Control) software components, using techniques of analysis, design, prototyping, developing, and testing and to provide assistance and direction to other Software Engineers. Candidates must have strong development experience in C++, C#, .NET web architecture, as well as, solid database development skills in MS SQL Server and/or Oracle.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

? Design, develop and maintain web-based MPC software components.

? Design, develop and maintain MPC components than interact with SQL Server and Oracle databases

? Design and develop application enhancements producing code that is functionally correct, according to specification, using established development and documentation standards, technologies, and methodologies. 

? Provide accurate work estimates for completion of tasks.

? Assist with quality assurance testing and updating/writing of documentation as assigned.

? Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Software Engineers and to act as a knowledge leader for database development, when required.

? Assist with customer support issues as needed.

? Research new technologies and advise development management of new software enhancements, when required.

 

Required Skills:

 

? Strong C++ and C# skills with thorough understanding of .NET web architecture.

? Strong, hands-on database development experience including stored procedures and triggers, in MS SQL Server or Oracle.

? Development experience with the Windows platform.

? Organizational skills to meet deadlines

? Oral communication skills to effectively explain technical concepts.

? Leadership skills to provide guidance to other Software Engineers and associates.

? Analytical skills to analyze data, perform research, and diagnose and solve problems.

? Problem-solving skills to solve diverse problems.

 

Desired Skills:

 

? Knowledge or experience with financial performance management, financial consolidation, or enterprise budgeting software applications

? M.S. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
