Sr. Software Engineer - Image Scientist - Operations - Job 40

Shutterfly is looking for a Software Engineer to join a small and diverse software team in developing infrastructure components, integrate varied output devices such as large-scale digital printers and presses, as well as integrate automated equipment used to manufacture, package and ship products in the Shutterfly printing and production facility.

 

Responsibilities include:Architecture design, database schema design, software design and implementation Design and development of scalable, data-intensive infrastructure software Acquire a deep understanding of the technologies and architecture of the software and the production environment Taking the product or component through the entire product life cycle from concept to ship and taking care of reliability and performance issues Design and apply methodologies to evaluate print quality ?Colorsure - Image Quality Design and apply methodologies to evaluate print quality Integrate output devices and automated equipment used in printing/finishing/shipping Shutterfly products This position will need to be available to go to both company locations, Redwood City and Hayward, CA.

 

Qualifications:3+ years of Imaging related product development experience Strong understanding of end-to-end Imaging Systems Experience with imaging algorithm development and implementation, quantitative image analysis, data acquisition techniques, statistical experiment design, data gathering and interpretation of data are required. Understanding of printing devices Understanding of color management and device profiling Excellent knowledge of Object Oriented programming and design, including Java and C++. Knowledge of image/graphics file formats Strong math and analytical skills Strong understanding of system level image processing workflows (from scan to print) Knowledge of objective and subjective measurement methods of image quality Excellent communication and personal skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced company with short release cycles. Bachelor?s (undergraduate), Master?s (graduate), or Ph.D. (post graduate) degree in a technical discipline (e.g. imaging science, imaging systems, computer science, information technology, engineering, math, physics, etc.).
