Since the mid 1980's, MSA Media, a division of Management Science Associates, Inc., has helped cable television executives make better business decisions through unparalleled services such as post buy reporting, stewardship and ADU analysis. In the early 90's, MSA extended its capabilities by building the Gabriel system in close cooperation with our cable network partners. Gabriel has gone on to become the leading software system for the cable network industry. Within the next two years, Gabriel will be responsible for managing 50% of the total annual $10 billion of industry ad sales dollars.


As a Senior Software Engineer working in our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, office, you will be the technical lead for the common components group of MSA's media division. Common components hold a valued part of our offering as they are shared and used throughout our software product, at all levels of the application from user interface to database. You will work with other experienced people throughout the organization to redesign the architecture for scalability of our product and ease of changes, and expand upon it for the rest of the media group to use. A background in iterative development or rational methodology, as well as experience with gathering data and writing technical specification documents will aid you in working closely with engineers, architects and the product development team, and will ensure compliance with current processes and standards. Prior working experience with J2EE, Oracle databases and SQL, UML, VB, and C++ will provide the tools you need to design and develop the applications that will be used throughout the company. In this interesting and rewarding role you will hold technical lead status and be in position to mentor more junior members of your team.
