Sr. Software Engineer w/diverse skills needed in Santa Monica

Excellent position available in a small, profitable software development company located in beautiful Santa Monica.  We supply large-scale, asset management programs to major aerospace contractors and government entities, and need your help to expand into other areas.

 

We need a motivated individual with broad technical skills and the ability to maintain and enhance large, multi-tier applications using a mix of technologies including COBOL, C++, ASP/VBScript, and PL/SQL.   You should be a team-player and a fast-learner, able to pick up existing programs and move us forward to .NET   You?re also comfortable with requirements definitions, documentation, testing and other formalities of developing quality software.  Responsibilities include application screens and reports, back-end application logic, data validation routines, and developing utilities and tools. We have a mix of existing product maintenance, system design, re-architecting, new commercial product development, and custom development projects.

 

Requirements:2+ years Cobol programming; preferably on Windows or Unix2+ years with Oracle databasesBS in CS, CIS, Math, or related fieldSmall-team / small-company experienceFamiliarity with XML, SOAP and WebServicesExperience porting/rearchitecting programs to other languagesExcellent written and verbal communication skills
