Sr Test Dev (SONET) Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Seeking engineers with a strong Development test background in the Networking/Telecom industry and at least 4+ years of hardware/software experience to execute system & protocol level functional testing on the high performance Multi-Service IP switching/routing products. Qualified candidates must have a BSEE/CS, MSEE/CS preferred, or equivalent experience, and must have technical expertise in evaluating SONET/GFP/CES/TDM/IMA/DS3/E3 technologies. Must have configured and tested ATM/MPLS/PPP/HDLC/ML-PPP/FR/IP routing protocols in various network environments. Proficiency with UNIX, C, and TCL programming is a plus. In addition, qualified candidates should have hands-on skills with diagnostic and test tools, WAN/LAN devices, routing protocols, network traffic analyzers, and hardware interface testers. Qualified candidates will work closely with System/Protocol development engineers to design and execute hardware/software test plans, documenting test progress, and participating in the automation of test suites. Effective communication skills, flexibility, a strong teamwork approach, and the desire to work in a fast-paced environment are necessary for success.
