Staff Software Quality Engineer

Employees in this role execute tasks related to Rational Software Development Platform provisioning & deployment tooling System Verification Test. They are responsible for the design, development and validation of customer focused test cases prior to executing them across a wide variety of platforms. They need to debug problems and report defects using Rational Clear Quest and to validate defect fixes. Additionally, they automate, maintain and execute regression test suites using Rational Functional Tester and run these tests via STAX/STAF. Supplementary duties will include maintenance of the test environment.

REQUIRED: FVT or SVT test experience; Test automation experience; Java application development skills/experience; Basic operating system administrator knowledge across various platforms; Must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills to work with the breadth of persons across the multi-site Rational development and test organizations.

Major Field of Study: Computer Science or related field, Test planning, test case authoring, Manual test execution and result tracking, Defect report creation and tracking, Verbal and written Communication skills, Test Automation Skills (STAF, STAX, RFT),
Java Programming, OS/Platform experience (Windows, Linux, zOS, AIX, HP, Solaris)
