Statistician

Responsibilities:

plan and implement complex data surveys or experimental designs, develop sampling methods, procedures, techniques of analysis, power of analysis and reporting requirements
prepare reports and recommendations for changes in the fraud system based on complex mathematical analyses with the highest statistical validity
plan the design and implementation of computer assisted inferential and/or descriptive statistical studies using methods such as linear and multiple regression, data mining, time series, analysis or variance, frequency distribution and non-parametric analysis
plan, conduct and prepare research projects requested by external and internal offices
compile and analyze data be performing qualitative and quantitative statistical procedures
provide data analysis for budget projection purposes
prepare statistical analysis, narratives, tables and charts to plot trends and perfect future status
work in accordance to the established company security policies and governmental compliance requirements
Key Qualifications:
Experience

significant experience with core statistical methods
experience in collection, assembly and evaluation of data for individual study
3 years of experience in data mining and data analysis
data mining in eCommerce enterprises, highly desirable
database and/or programming experience, highly desirable
experience in an internet-based company, and especially within a fraud function, highly desirable
Knowledge/Skills

ability to prepare narrative statements summarizing or interpreting statistical data
excellent verbal and written communication skills
ability to work independently, but also able to provide key input to team setting
driver of change, process improvement
psychology
Education

Bachelors degree, 3.0 GPA minimum
