Storage Operations Specialist

Provide effective support of the Storage Management Team's charter to design, implement, secure and proactively administer enterprise-wide backup services. Provide technical support for all projects, processes, resources, service levels and operational procedures as required enhancing the productivity and satisfaction of our client community.



Major Accountabilities:



Perform system and network administration as needed in support of the Netbackup servers.

Responsible for developing and maintaining backup and recovery services for all systems in all computing regions.

Responsible for developing and maintaining all server and system software service levels.

Responsible for tools and services required to effectively manage, monitor, support, secure and provide audit compliance to achieve defined service levels for backup, data and system recovery, offsite rotation and Business Resumption.

Perform change management activities and provide an advanced level of day-to-day technical support on supported systems. Perform 7/24 on call support for these environments.

Provide support for all corporate scheduling systems (Control M) and all related supporting operational processes.

Perform HBA configuration and basic SAN administration

Consult with the customer on requirements, evaluate package alternatives, implement solutions and provide ongoing Production operational support for the Data Services environment applications.

Provide technical support to address production and operational issues using available software tools.

Develop, publish and enforce systems architecture standards.

Provide detailed, professional technical documentation for both procedures and diagrams on all of the above accountabilities.




Skills/Knowledge:



At least five years of hardware experience on Sun Hardware and ADIC/STK Tape Library required.

At least five years of hardware configuration and operating system generation experience required

At least five years of Sun Solaris, IBM AIX and Veritas NetBackup 4.5 or higher software experience required.
OR
At least five years of Windows 2000 and 2003 and Veritas NetBackup 4.5 or higher software experience required.


Experience with EMC CDL Virtual Tape Libraries a plus
