We are currently looking for a Strong C++ with a background in mathematics to work on our Predictive Technologies team to help develop cutting edge software with an emphasis on speed, efficiency, and reliability.  The Predictive Technologies team is responsible for market predictions.  This includes data collection, design development, testing, deployment, operational monitoring, performance assessment and maintenance of statistical models and any support scripts.

 

What would you do first?Learn the basics of one of ATD?s predictive engine.  Work as an adjunct on the maintenance of the predictive engine.Develop scripts to support the operation environment and measurements.Become proficient in C++ through improvement or acquisition of skills commensurate with the level of experience and education.Improve or acquire skills in statistics and other forms of predictive analysis.Learn the basics of ATD?s trading systems and methods and gain an understanding of the terminology and variables.Become integrated with the team.

 

But then ? the fun begins:Improve the reliability, accuracy, speed and use of predictive technologies.Continue to support and develop ATD?s predictive software systems.Contribute new, innovative methods for research, and production deployment of predictive systems.Increase level of responsibility with complex, self directed projects (e.g. make sure modeling is up to date with market changes).

What are the skills needed for such a unique opportunity (because you just can?t wait to get started)?

 

  Required:

?  Strong knowledge of C++

?  C++ Standard Library

?  Templates

?  Event driven programming

?  Network programming via sockets

?  Strong background in mathematics and/or statistics

?  Some experience in Perl, Ruby, or Python

 

  The following skills would be desirable:

?  Production quality software experience

?  Real-time processing

?  Knowledge of Matlab, SAS, R, or similar tools

 

 

We will teach you about trading ? but interest in the market or market knowledge is a plus.

 

  Education:

College degree in Computer Science with a minor in Math or a degree in Math with a minor in Computer Science preferred; would consider highly skilled candidate without a degree or with unrelated degree; advanced degree a plus

 

Five plus years ?real world? experience (jobs, internships, open source involvement, etc.)

 

Open source community involvement a plus
