Job Summary:

Production Support Engineer: Responsible for troubleshooting production issues and defining solutions to eliminate the root cause of the problem.

 

Essential Duties:

? Thorough technical problem research to find root cause design issues involving all aspects of Unicru?s systems including: Core Software, Customer Solution software, Database systems, and Application systems.

? Software development including tool design to enable the Customer Support group to resolve problems or provide problem workarounds.

? Monitor, analyze and troubleshoot problems in the daily operation of production systems.

? Unicru systems defect analysis requiring detailed, technical, written summary reports

? Contributions to process improvements within the Unicru systems framework

? You will also be required to be responsible for rotating on-call support.

 

Scope and Accountability:

Drives Unicru design improvements by defining core design flaws and possible solutions. Performs intensive technical analysis of customer related issues and develops solutions to correct the issues. Responsible for driving engineering design methodology. Oversees customer issues and collaborates with Engineers to develop resolution. Works closely with Engineers and Customer Support to define and solve technical problems. Communicates with Engineers to track defects and decrease time to resolution.  Improves the Technical Support model by making valuable contributions to the Engineering design framework.  Documents support model framework with written documentation and technical support tools.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

? Working knowledge of system analysis, software development, object-oriented design, and data modeling.

? Production programming experience in some object-oriented language (C#, Java, or C/C++, etc.), and exposure to Microsoft SQL Server or other RDBMS experience.

? Knowledge of MS IIS ASP (application server pages) is required.

? Ability to learn multiple engineering environments rapidly.

? Organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with technical and Customer Support groups.

? Ability to interact with external clients and partners.

? Strong collaborative skills and team orientation.

? Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

? 2-4 years of experience in software development or software analysis.
