Position Summary:
Responsible for supervising/leading the installation and support of UNIX servers and related equipment in an environment requiring 24 X 7 uptime. Demonstrate leadership qualities and decision-making ability in the support of Internet Banking Operations. Represent the Systems Administration team in customer planning sessions and project meetings. Promote and demonstrate an attitude of teamwork and cooperation. Oversee installation of new software releases, system upgrades, evaluation and installation of patches and resolution of software related problems. Consistently ensures effective system backups and recovery. Designs systems deployments and build configurations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
1) Works on highly complex and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles or complex data relationships. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
2) Oversees daily administration of computer systems (servers) to prevent outage and plans for optimized system resource utilization. Maintains integrity and reliability of server through the development of procedures and standards. Communicates standards and practices with technical and business personal as needed. Performs capacity planning as needed.
3) Develops and implements standards for system/server maintenance and configuration. Automates routine maintenance tasks as appropriate. Ensures proper backups procedures are in place and in use.
4) Work with developers to optimize system resource utilization.
5) Provides server/systems related assistance to other departments as needed. Assignments are of a highly complex nature requiring technical knowledge and experience to develop and implement unique solutions.
6) Represents systems engineering interest in and contributes to product development within the SDLC framework.
7) Provide after-hours on-call support (monthly rotation).
8) Provide leadership and mentoring/training for junior team members.
9) Act as subject matter expert on assigned systems and provide team technical training.
10) Development of effective team processes and procedures.
11) Provide input and assist in budget planning. Required ExperienceAlong with your outstanding drive for accomplishment, the successful incumbent will bring with them:
1) Minimum of 5 years experience in Systems Engineering in a production environment with 7x24 up time requirements. Experience in an ASP model is required along with significant experience on large-scale, distributed web architectures utilizing ASP and or CGI technologies. Experience with state of the art application server environments, and enterprise integration technologies are a requirement.
2) Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent knowledge of AIX, Solaris, MS Windows, Linux (Debian, Redhat, Suse). Excellent knowledge of Veritas Netbackup, VxFS, Cluster Manager. Expertise with NAS and SAN technology. Experience with Unix shell scripting, PERL, Java and/or other object oriented programming languages is a plus. Expertise with current Internet Technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, XML, HTTP, HTTP, DHTML, Application Servers, etc.) is a plus.
3) Equipment Used: RS6000, Sun Microsystems or Intel Servers. Network Appliance and EMC storage equipment.
