Systems Engineer – Service Operations

Job Summary:

 

The Systems Engineer?s primary responsibility is for the ongoing support of the service delivery infrastructure including all hardware platforms, operating systems, and applications.

 

Responsibilities:

?  Must have the ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently and in a timely manner

?  Must manage his/her time, set priorities, and requires little supervision, but seeks guidance from senior team members and management when appropriate

?  Must have the ability to learn new applications and adapt within a fast paced changing and high growth environment

?  Must have excellent communication skills and effectively and appropriately communicate both internally and externally to customers and business partners

 

Operational Support: (70%)

?  Must be proactive & reactive monitoring of the service delivery environment

?  Work independently or with other members of the operational staff to resolve production problems resulting in outages

?  Provide off hours support when needed and be primary on call contact on a rotational basis along with other members of the Service Operations staff 

 

Systems Engineering:  (30%)

?  Install and upgrade new and existing infrastructure.  This may include the installation and configuration of the hardware platform, operating system, and applications.

?  This individual will be a technical contributor for project initiatives

?  Identify areas for improvement within the service delivery environment and make recommendations to management

?  Documentation of the Electronic Vaulting service delivery environment as well as policies and procedures

 

Travel ? Approximately 5%

 

Experience:

?  High aptitude for learning with the ability to adapt new and changing technologies

?  Strong customer service, communications and analytical skills

?  Solid understanding of IP networking, routing and switching technologies

?  Experience with Dell or HP server platforms within a Windows 2000/2003 networking environment is a must

?  Experience with SCSI and SATA disk arrays and related RAID technologies is a must.

 

Education:

?  Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience
