Systems Engineer- Financial Systems

The IT Demand group is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide 2nd and 3rd tier financial systems support for Financial Reporting, Tax, Treasury and Accounting groups. Current systems include: Extensity (formally Geac) MPC, Great Plains, Hyperion, Millennium, and CorpTax. The position would work closely with clients to ensure applications are maintained and that business owner's requests are responded to accurately and timely.

 

Responsibilities:

?  Identify functional and technical application and system requirements for financial practices.

?  Evaluate, recommend and implement solutions on multiple projects.

?  Install and debug applications, modules, updates and configurations.

?  Works closely with the project teams to include project management, software development, quality assurance and configuration management through the entire life cycle to ensure appropriate solutions are implemented.

?  Provide understanding of finance business requirements to technical project team.

?  Development and maintain system run books

?  Provide detailed project plans and on-going status of projects and timelines.

?  Manage and coordinate production level deployments.

?  Ensure roles and responsibilities and segregation of duties as it pertains to financial reporting systems.

?  Facilitate all support and maintenance of financial systems including system configurations.

 

Qualifications:

?  Possess strong researching, organizational and coordination skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

?  Strong technical knowledge regarding various infrastructure and applied technologies, familiarity with analysis tools, strong customer orientation and demonstrated organizational skills.

?  Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

?  Experience with accounting and finance systems.

?  Specifically experience in Extensity MPC (formally Geac), Great Plains, Hyperion, CorpTax, Millennium and SAP Systems is desirable.

?  Experience with Sarbanes Oxley requirements and/or COBIT and ITIL methodologies.

?  Experience with global financial reporting and US GAAP accounting practices.

?  Ability to evaluate, recommend and implement solutions on projects.

?  Effective analysis and problem solving skills.

?  Knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL databases are necessary. 

?  Proficiency with MS Excel, VBA, and VBScript is a plus.

?  Knowledge and experience with Red Hat Linux, Java, JBoss and Tomcat application servers is required.

?  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

?  Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems. Equivalent experience is acceptable.

?  Experience with Tax, Treasury and Legal practices a plus.

?  Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills required.

?  Individual must be a highly motivated, organized professional with broad business and project management experience as well as strong understanding of financial systems.

?  The ability to work independently and as a team leader to coordinate and perform multiple tasks and projects is critical.
