Job Summary and Responsibilities Include:

The Professional Services group within PAR3 develops high-end outbound notification applications. We focus on delivering results and value to our clients through custom and packaged solutions. As a systems integration engineer, responsibilities include:

? Participate in designing customs systems integrations to capture the events required to initiate mission-critical customer outbound notifications on behalf of our clients by:

o  Performing data modeling through object-oriented and database design

o  Reviewing the business requirements (functional specification) gathered by the sales engineers and project managers to identify open issues and missing requirements

o  Working with the senior engineer to create the list of deliverables and their corresponding estimates for the design solution

? Develop the systems integration solution to fulfill the client?s business requirements. Steps include:

o  Build the Development Environment

? Create the source tree using CVS/Subversion

? Request voice prompts from the Media Services group

? Manage hardware setup with the Operations group

? Request PAR3 ?Alert Administrator? (web access) client setup from the Operations group

o  Code/Develop the Systems Integration Solution using Java in the UNIX environment

o  Develop multi-media (telephony, email, SMS) templates using PAR3 X-Builder tool

o  Write monitoring scripts using Korn Shell or Perl to proactively monitor the health of the solution

o  Create a personal work plan to meet the dates communicated to the client

o  Raise awareness to the senior engineer and/or project manager when a request is out of scope

? Develop straightforward flat file based outbound notification application that meet the client business requirements

? Create and execute detailed Test Plans to execute white-box testing of all components

o   Resolve issues discovered during white-box testing

? Production Rollout Support

o  Monitor the solution post go-live to ensure scheduled input and nightly result processing are operating as designed

o  Resolve any issues that are discovered by the client and customer management teams

? Interact with PAR3 direct sales force and clients

o  Provide clarification on estimates and design

o  Play an active role in addressing and communicating design and production issues via conference calls and detailed emails

? Continue to develop leadership skills to grow into playing a primary role in leading projects and staff

Technical Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

? In depth knowledge of object-oriented design and implementation is critical

Education / Experience:

? Previous experience designing and implementing a solution in an object-oriented language (Java, C++, C#, Smalltalk)

? Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Degree

? One to three years programming skills in Java (C++ is also acceptable)

? Understanding of call center environments a plus

? SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX, middleware, and Oracle database experience a plus
