Position Description

 



Planning, execution and implementation of corporately managed IT systems, as well as assist in planning, execution and implementation of locally managed IT systems where this is appropriate

Provide technical support to internal personnel both in the IT department and in other departments to make sure that we provide the highest available customer satisfaction with regards to technology usage and technology implementations. This includes taking responsibility of technical related issues where needed to have a successful result.

Day to day operation of corporately managed IT systems:

? Supporting and Maintaining the Global WAN Environment, ensuring routing, proxy and firewall devices are all functional.

? Day to day operation of corporately managed IT systems: Provide support to internal and external customers (vendors and clients)

? Day to day operation of corporately managed IT systems: Maintain corporately managed IT systems to make sure they are in line with current security policies, anti virus policies and have installed and enabled the best available protection systems to avoid unauthorized access to the systems

? Day to day operation of corporately managed IT systems: Maintain corporately managed IT systems to make sure they are in line with current security policies

? Provide support with update/purchases of software and hardware and make sure the hardware and software asset register is up to date

Develop policies, procedures and if necessary internal toolsets to provide maximum uptime and security of corporately managed IT systems

Keep up to date with future technology changes

 

 

Required Skills/Background

 

Systems skills Hands on experience and knowledge in the following areas:

? TCP/IP networking and protocols and analyses

? Cisco IOS + Feature Sets including Debugging, Firewall and VPN

? Linux / Unix Installation Administration / Open Source

? Scripting Languages, Expect, Perl, Bash

? Monitoring of IT systems and management and implementation of SLAs

? Fail over/load balancing/Cluster solutions

 

Strong technical knowledge. 

? Relevant technical qualifications,  CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCDA, CCDP, CCSP and other IT certifications

? College or University IT degree Preferred

 

Excellent Communications skills:

?  Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and succinctly to all levels of management

?  To deliver project results in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

?  Document and Share knowledge with extended teams
