Systems Support
Systems Support Description: Candidate is required to do application support and administration for an intranet portal housing ~40 business facing applications and supporting ~2000 end users.
Environment includes: Sun Solaris, WebSphere 5.x, Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, Hyperion 8.x, LDAP, J2EE applications, Cold Fusion.
Candidate will be tasked to monitor server process, logs, and overall system health and performance. Investigate and resolve failures or escalate as appropriate. Participate in code testing activities and manage weekly installs of code base from development into production. Respond to customer service inquiries/issues submitted via email.
Requirements:
Candidate will analyze and support computer operations by controlling production applications, monitoring system resources and response times, and provides first-line support for operation problems. Candidate is required to understand production procedures and material flow issues, should be able to analyze, troubleshoot and resolves production issues with minimal supervision. Candidate will maintain production orders, performs inventory reconciliation, manage transactions involving material movements, maintain inventory accuracy and utilize technical knowledge and data to support decision-making functions.
Candidate works as an effective teammate, communicator and trainer; able to work required hours and shifts when required. Candidate may need experience in mainframe functions involving production control, batch processing and batch testing. Duties may include the review of change records and an associated implementation for completeness, accuracy and adherence to standards and policy; duties may also include forecasting and the management of particular computer functions and data.
Candidates experience in one or more of the following software packages may be required: AMAPS, XBMS, ASK/MANMAN, BPCS, Dataflow, Demand Solutions, CA/SCHEDULER, Infoman, and Remedy.
