Tech Writer with Machinery Documentation, Framemaker

Our client has an immediate opening for a Technical Writer.

 

Background:

?  Minimum 10 years experience as Senior Tech Writer in High Tech field documenting complex machinery.

?  Minimum BA/BS Degree or equivalent Military Experience.

?  Solid Electromechanical skills.

?  Strong Desktop Publishing / Computer skills, using FrameMaker Version 6 or 7.

 

Function:

Generate a variety of manuals to support Upgrades shipments for multiple product lines.

 

Skills:

People Skills:

Ability to interact with engineers and/or technicians and participate in Alpha and Beta builds to generate high-quality documentation against aggressive schedules.

 

Technical Skills:

?  Project Management skills ? Must be able to satisfy multiple projects that have aggressive schedules.

?  Strong Desktop Publishing / Computer skills, using FrameMaker Version 6 or 7

?  Solid technical writing skills ? Must be able to generate clear, concise, correct, and complete documentation quickly.

?  Ability to use Photo-editing tools desirable.

?  Intellectual skills:

?  Ability to collect both abstract and semi-abstract information and organize it coherently. 

?  Ability to read/understand Assembly Drawings and Schematics.
