General Summary:

Responsible for technical marketing for Building Solutions Division (BSD) MEP engineering products and solutions (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineering solutions for building design, analysis and construction) with the guidance of the Senior Product Marketing Manager. As a Technical Marketing Manager for Autodesk's MEP Engineering Solutions you will help drive technical sales leadership and technical marketing. Specifically, you will support a global product marketing strategy and, together with regional sales and marketing organizations, help implement programs across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. This role requires upto 30% of the time to be traveling (80% US & Canada / 20% International), schedule dependant on the time of year and the product release cycle.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical sales leadership

Provides technical sales leadership to Autodesk and Reseller application engineering teams worldwide with regard to positioning and selling Building Solutions Division MEP engineering products and solutions Develops, documents, and trains presenters on scripted demonstrations of products and solutions to support sales and other presentation requirements as part of the launch process and on an on-going basis Organizes, develops and delivers technical application MEP engineering training programs at worldwide sales kickoff and other sales training events. Develops, documents, and trains presenters on scripted demonstrations and other material addressing specific markets (e.g. use of product in education, and for specific building types) Develops, extends and maintains sample design data sets as needed for product demonstrations; acquires sample project data from other sources where available Advocates for technical sales and product requirements back to product marketing and product management

Technical marketing

Contributes to development of BSD and Autodesk product and solution positioning and messaging Collaborates closely with Senior Product Marketing Manager on product marketing deliverables with technical content (content requiring operation of the software or detailed knowledge of its operation), including product launch deliverables Maintains high-level of skill in both shipping product and pre-release/beta product Stays current on industry issues and trends Gathers, consolidates, analyzes and disseminates technical information about competitive products to the Applications Engineers Presents and demonstrates products and solutions at significant industry trade shows, important end-user events, executive briefings, seminars, webcasts and other events Presents product to press; works with journalists who are reviewing product Develops technical aspects of competitive analyses as part of the business planning process

Product advocacy:

Together with BSD Product Management, encourages and supports development of third-party applications and content for the product Coordinates with Learning & Training to ensure that training materials delivered for the product are as high a quality as possible Works with other technical marketing managers and other Autodesk divisions to develop integrated technical marketing materials supporting Autodesk solutions

Requirements/Desired Knowledge/Skills:

Technically savvy with building design software Proven individual contributor and collaborator Able to set priorities effectively Good problem solver Strong product champion Strong leadership skills Customer-oriented Degree or experience in building industry; professional degree in engineering (or equivalent experience) preferred Experience with MEP design, analysis and construction documentation software; experience with software products (Autodesk Building Systems) specific to position desirable but not required Good organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and time management skills Strong graphic, written, and verbal communication skills Good sales and presentation skills Self-starter who learns new software easily Working knowledge of image editing and animation software (e.g. Flash, Cantasia, Paint Shop Pro)

Work Experience:

3 to 5 years of building industry or software industry experience Marketing experience
