Amazon.com is looking for a Technical Product & Program Manager to manage the plogs program.

In January 2006, Amazon began a beta for the Plogs program. Plogs provides a "personalized web log" for every customer on the Amazon.com home page, providing relevant, targeted posts from authors, artists, and Amazon. This beta just scratches the surface of what Amazon can do to provide customers interesting and relevant information from multiple sources - authors, artists, other customers, and Amazon all have targeted messages to send, and plogs is a unique channel for encouraging repeat visits. Our relationships with our customers and with our authors, artists, and vendors enable us to deliver a differentiated experience.

The TPPM for Plogs will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the plogs technical, business, and design teams. You will deliver on the vision of worldwide plogs by working with the team to craft the right software to build, manage the process of software development and post-launch processing, deal with daily prioritization and task assignment, and build the key metrics of success for the business. You need to be passionate about customer experience, interested in how we manage our business, a good leader of technical projects, and focused on tying decisions to business metrics. You will regularly interact with senior leadership across the company.




Candidates for this role should have

o?????????? Substantive experience building innovative, complex customer experiences, ideally but not necessarily consumer-facing


o?????????? Strong program management experiences driving the development of end-to-end software solutions on time and within budget, with smart learnings along the way


o?????????? Business analysis acumen, with substantive experience measuring the success of a complex business and proposing new business opportunities


o?????????? A track record of communicating well with executives and non-technical leaders


o?????????? Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or the equivalent preferred; an ability to get into the technical details and comfort with SQL will be valuable.
