Technical Production and Program Manager - Direct Traffic
Technical Product / Program Manager - Automated Targeted Email
?
Amazon.com is seeking an experienced program manager to define, build, and maintain the software platform that selects content for our e-mail programs in a manner that's optimal for our customers. This team is responsible for the systems that conceive, build, send our customers highly personalized messages, record the response, and feed the learnings gained into future message selection. Many opportunities exist to apply statistical and machine learning techniques, and the systems built must handle massive amounts of content and high traffic levels while providing a high level of availability. As a member of the Automated Targeted E-mail team, you will participate in architecture and design decisions, engage in research on how to effectively target content, and build the systems that optimize the Web site using object-oriented C/C++ and Java on UNIX platforms. Candidates must also have a strong computer science background: a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or equivalent degree or experience is required.
?
As a Technical Product/Program Manager, you will work directly with a small group of software developers, and be responsible for:
?
- Collecting business and customer goals, translating them into a product roadmap
- Defining requirements, writing product or technical specifications, and driving iterations of the UI design for a standout customer experience
- Conceiving, prioritizing, and executing development projects, driving the schedule from design to release
- Delivering high-quality products on time
Candidates must have excellent project management skills; a computer science degree or five years equivalent demonstrated technical aptitude and hands-on experience; great analytical and problem-solving skills; strong business judgment; superb oral and written communication skills; and keen customer insight. Qualified candidates should have 3-5 years of experience leading or managing complex software projects in a high-innovation environment, deploying at least three major software products or feature sets on time.
Amazon.com is recruiting for Seattle-based opportunities. Relocation to Seattle, WA is required.
