Technical Program Manager - Hardlines Technical Team

The Hardlines Technical Team?is looking for a top-notch?technical program manager to help us succeed?internationally in 2006 and beyond.? As?a TPM on the Hardlines Technical Team, you will have the unique opportunity to help Amazon.com achieve its retail goals?by expanding our retail and 3rd party platforms globally.? You?will?own and deliver end-to-end solutions for some of our largest initiatives.

As a?TPM on the team you will design and implement scalable, flexible features, and you will be expected to effectively explain technical options and limitations to both technical and non-technical audiences.? You should also have the ability to multi-task, adapt to a changing environment, and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems. Flexibility, intellectual curiosity, and a sense of humor are required as well.




3 - 5 years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry

A strong background in C/C++ or Java

Excellent working knowledge of HTML, Cascading Style Sheets, JavaScript, Perl and current trends in Web technology

Experience working with Mason, XML, SQL

Experience with Unix/Linux environments, distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications

The ability and desire to learn new systems, create reliable/maintainable code, and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems

The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and orally

Proven track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects.

A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is required.
