The Opportunity:

The Technical Requirements Product Manager (TPM) is responsible for translating Mitchell product plans and Marketing Requirements Documents (MRD's) into detailed technical, functional and user requirements that include customer usability, workflows, and use-cases. The TPM will actively work with Product Managers, other Mitchell departments, and customers as required, to effectively create the requirements documents. The TPM will translate MRD's into detailed technical, functional and user requirements, and work directly with the User Experience group to create wire frames and prototypes to support the MRD and requirements documents. This person will coordinate with product management, software development and other departments to ensure requirements are accurately built into the product, and work with QA to ensure the adequacy of test plans. The TPM is responsible for driving the implementation of the requirements throughout the software development and QA process.

The Technical Product Manager (TPM) will technically troubleshoot product, assist in root cause analysis and answer customer inquiries in a professional and empathetic manner, representing the company in a positive and proactive manner.

 

Requirements:5+ years experience in the software industry as technical product management, business systems analyst, systems engineering, software design engineering, software requirements analyst, or user requirements product support, or QA specialist. Hands on experience with Rational RequsitePro is desired. 3+ years experience writing and translating product requirements into detailed technical requirements and all associated functional requirements documentation across all phases of the software development life cycle. 2+ years familiarity with software development or systems integration processes especially relating to mission critical web based application solutions. Knowledge of software development methods and practices in a multi-platform environment including requirements analysis, requirements change management, JAD/Meeting facilitation skills, structured design methods, or Rational Unified Process is preferred. Must be able to technically troubleshoot product and assist in root cause analysis and resolution of customer issues including documentation to QA and product development. Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills. Insurance industry experience a plus. Strong computer skills with demonstrated skill in Excel, Access and Word. Ability to work both independently or as part of a team. Demonstrated focus on product competitiveness and high customer satisfaction.Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics or related field.
