Technical Speciailist - RUP

Job Description:
- Assist project team(s) in adopting RUP iterative development approach
- Introduce RUP best practices to the project team
- Participate in architecture elaboration including key technical decisions that constrain the overall design and implementation of the project
- Assist application team(s) in meeting standards
- Guide design team with development of use cases
- Coach project team on Unified Modeling Language (UML)
- Guide the project team(s) on the proper use of common Rational Tools
- Develop and deliver RUP related training presentations/materials
- Research and recommend industry best practices
- Able to implement and support the following Rational Tools: Rational Rose, RequisitePro, TestManager, Robot, ClearCase and ClearQuest

Required Skills
- Thorough understanding of requirements and software engineering domain
- Leadership experience across the various teams, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to motivate, persuade, and mentor other team members
- Extensive experience implementing Rational products such as: Rational Rose, RequisitePro, TestManager, Robot, ClearCase and ClearQuest
- Proactive and goal-oriented with a relentless focus on results
- Extensive knowledge of RUP process framework, best practices, and key artifacts
- 1-2 year practical experience in implementing RUP on web, client/server mainframe platforms
- Hands-on modeling experience with UML (Former Software Architect preferred)
- Familiarity with common architectural pattern and best practices
- Thorough understanding of OOAD
- Familiarity with IBM development environments (e.g. WSAD)
- 2 -3 years Project Management Experience (PMP Preferred)
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work on multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
